Trade Account Top-up Delays, and Dividend Stock Plans

I wanted to buy a share of [REDACTED] today before their ex-dividend date on Monday. Although I didn't have enough funds in my Trade account to make the purchase, I figured I'd quickly transfer over the required funds to do so.

Unfortunately, it takes 3 business days to transfer funds from a bank account to a trade account, so the funds won't be available until February 26. Although that'll be too late to grab the [REDACTED] stock (for this querter's dividends), that will be soon enough to grab a share of $MCD before their ex-dividend date of February 28.

My current plan is to accumulate a variety of quarterly dividend stocks that have different fiscal year start/end dates, so that I can eventually get a dividend payout every month of the year from all the different stocks possessed.

For exaple, $AAPL pays out dividends Feb/May/Aug/Nov, whereas $TSE:L pays out Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec. $JPM and $PG pay out Jan/Apr/Jul/Oct, so owning all three of these stocks as an example would cover every month for dividend payouts. I'll of course look to diversify my holdings into Canada/US, and across industries.

Time will tell whether or not this is a good plan, but if not, I'll pivot.
